Tasting Notes: Toffee, Dried Apple, Hazelnut 

Second Summer is our raised glass to the Fall season! Here in Chico, CA, we really only get about 1 month of “real fall” with the sweaters and the colors and such, so it is appropriate to name this coffee Second Summer! This is a double origin, combining two of our longtime relationship coffees from Katia Duke’s farm, San Isidro in Honduras and from Antonio Medina’s family farm, La Colina in Guatemala. We’ve been buying both of these coffees from these farmers each harvest the last 3 years. It’s been fun to combine them and see the nuances they bring to the table. While enjoying Second Summer, expect aromas of dried fruit, almond, and creamy milk chocolate. The flavors dance around toffee, brittle, nougat, with fairly prominent hazelnut and dried apple as well! It hints to the fall season in all the right ways while still holding onto the bright notes of summer.
